卡牌數量多45張+多兩個遊戲板塊
– 新的遊戲板塊是用於放置在舊的遊戲板塊上。固有些舊的機制會被取而代之 （如Hall of Oratory 會被Tech Negotiator取代）
 
新的卡牌和遊戲板塊提供玩家多一些選擇，如spice 和solari 有更多用法，亦正正因為這樣，玩家需要早幾個回合便要思考好後來的走向，決定如何分配資源，令遊戲有更多變化，更需要運用策略取勝👍🏻
 
多了科技板塊和戰艦
– 科技板塊可給予玩家在遊戲過程或遊戲結束時獲得更多分數，而戰艦可給予玩家操控區域的可能性
 
縱使基本版獲得好評，但不少玩家表達只有指定的獲勝方法是Dune Imperium 的弊病. 所以在這擴充裏多了科技板塊和戰艦便改善了這個問題。戰艦令戰鬥更多樣性，而科技板塊因與分數直接掛鉤而影響整個遊戲大局。這兩個新機制給予玩家動機去嘗試不同獲勝方法
新增了Epic mode
– 把遊戲延伸至12分
 
雖然說是Epic mode，但遊戲仍然是10個回合，並沒有整體把遊戲時間拉長，所以個人而言不是十分理解

45 more playing cards +2 more game boards
– A new game board will be placed on top of the original one, therefore replacing and introducing new gameplay mechanisms (e.g. Hall of Oratory is replaced by Tech Negotiator)
The new cards and the game boards provide players with more options during gameplay, for example, there are more uses for both the spice and solari. These changes require players to plan at least a few turns ahead to allocate resources, granting players with more options and to be more strategised 
 
Introducing Tech Tiles and Dreadnaught
– Tech tiles allow players to gain victory points during and at the end of the gameplay while Dreadnaught provide players with a chance to control an area
Even though the base game has received a lot of positive reviews, many players have expressed the problem of having only limited options to victory. With the expansion, the addition of Tech Tiles and Dreadnaught have improved on this. Dreadnaught provide varieties in combat, while Tech Tiles affect the whole game in general due to the fact that they directly relate to victory points. Also, both of these add-ons provide incentives for players to try out different paths of winning. 
A newly added epic mode
– Extend the gameplay to 12 victory points
Even though it is said to be an epic mode, however, the game is still only 10 rounds long. It does not make the gameplay any longer. Therefore, personally I do not see any difference and why it is called the epic mode.
